The clinical use of hypnosis is an underutilized and effective tool for treating a wide variety of emotional, behavioral, and medical problems. The American Society for Clinical Hypnosis define hypnosis as a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention.

Clinical hypnosis is particularly useful in working with stress, anxiety, sleeping problems, depression, trauma, and treatment impasses. It is also effective in treating habit control (such as smoking cessation), phobias, panic disorder, weight management, and performance enhancement. It can also be used for helping people cope with pain and prepare for medical procedures. I have been trained by the Center for the Advancement of Training in Clinical Hypnosis and have completed workshops at the beginner, intermediate and advanced level.

Past Life Therapy

One application of hypnosis is to regress back to earlier times in our lives. However, sometimes the roots of our current problems cannot be found in our present life. The field of past life therapy is growing as people have come to understand the value in exploring the impact our past lives have on us today. This treatment is particularly effective for phobias, somatic ailments, anxiety grief, loss and relationship issues. People who remember past-life experiences are often able to heal or lessen chronic physical ailments or symptoms that have been unresponsive to traditional medical treatments. They are also able to make connections to their past lives which enable them to facilitate the healing process. If you are curious about using hypnotic regression for past-life therapy, I encourage you to view Dr. Brian Weiss' website: brianweiss.com. Dr. Weiss has written several books on this topic and is a world renowned expert in this field. I have attended several professional training programs with Dr. Weiss at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY.
